What happens when you hit a keyword on your favorite search engine sites like Google, Yahoo, Bing and so on? You would land up getting various websites that suit your requirements. How does this process take place and why do some websites end up getting higher rank than others?

This is done through a technique called Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which helps these search engines find relevant websites. And rank them above millions of other sites in response to a search query, if they are well optimized, thus helping them get traffic from search engine.

Who would not want readers to get attracted to their website? However, are good quality content and the name of the author only responsible factors for bringing in traffic on the site? These few factors certainly go into bringing web traffic but the list does not end down here!

Following are a few tips that can help you make a website copy and article content SEO-friendly:-

Researched keywords should be included:

Research the keywords well before you write the copy or the article. Always include keywords from the point of view of the “user”. Use keywords sparingly. Do not clutter your content much with the keywords.

Provide informative, updated content:

Provide informative and updated content with the right infusion of keywords to optimize website traffic. If it is not informative and meaningful, you might just be opening an immediate exit door to the readers who would not like to come back to your site.

Break-up your copy in paragraphs:

If you write your article in a long sentences or stanza, chances are that readers may not be able to decipher anything from your article. Hence, it is always advisable to break your article in small sentences and paragraphs to make it more user friendly. Thus making it easy for “users’ eyes”. You can even break your copy and use bullet points to explain specific lists or pointers.

Essentially use titles and headers:

Use catchy titles and headers that draw attention to your copy. Make sure to include keywords in your title. Your title should read like a teaser and make people want to read more information.

Check, check and re-check:

It is always essential to finish your work, it is always beneficial to check and recheck your work for enhancements if any. Sometimes, it happens that the initial workflow of the content would not be that great. Hence, proofreading and editing is a great idea for you as a writer to ensure that your content is up to the mark!
